DARK TIMES - CHANGE THROUGH PROPER USE OF POWER.
It's often said that there's light at the end of the tunnel, but what happens in a situation where the tunnel has forcefully become the dwelling place? A situation where one doesn't get to have a chance of reaching the end of the tunnel where the light is said to be (sighs).
A popular yoruba saying goes, "Bà ewé bá ti pé l'ara ose, o ma n di ose ni ; when leaf stays longer in a soap, it becomes soap automatically." I think this is the case of the so-called Giant of Africa, who has long tarried in darkness (corruption) and as such, has become used to corruption, and it's now not only a great but also a difficult task to cleanse her of corruption.
The nation is suffering in the midst of plenty, and the cries of the lowly reach not to the leaders who have been elected to represent their interest at the upper arm; they have all gone their way, making their belly their gods thag need to be satisfied and endowed with excess at the expense of the ones who elected them.
How long shall we tarry in this darkness called corruption, a subtle moth that has eaten deep into the system, and has made the nation a dwelling place? I can not say; one thing I'm certain about is that the power with the people is greater than the people in power if they'll recognize and utilize the power rightly.
What power lies in the hand of the people? Why haven't they recognized such power, talkless of making use of it rightly? Maybe fear, or even foolishness.
I'll explain what I mean.
The power of the people is their vote, but many don't see it as a tool to be used. This is because many have the belief that their votes don't count, and others receive #1500 or a ridiculous amount as price for their votes. Little wonder the politicians have digged dip into such weakness, and have made it a source of their own strength.
